So basically for business of writing we need to write a business proposal for a piece of our writing. I am writing a poetry proposal. This will be a cover letter, statement of intent and marketing plan. This is the cover letter. I shall be sending the statement of intent and marketing plan in the next couple of days as well.
Be as through as possible please. (sentence structure, punctuation, spelling, lower case, upper case, etc)

Dear Amy Acre,
I am writing to you to share my poems for your consideration.
In my poetry I attempt to achieve one of your main objectives: making space for more and varied voices. However, the voice I intent to make space for, in many ways, is the reader’s. I find myself fascinated with what one can say without saying as well as the balance between guiding the reader and allowing them to ‘take the lead’.
I am approaching you as I feel that my work may be a good fit with you as publishers. It is my understanding that your main focus is on publishing pamphlets by emerging authors. You have previously published Joel Auterson’s work titled ‘Unremember’ which I particularly resonate with as a writer. His exploration of experiences that define us, the impact these have on us and how this fits in a wider context is similar to what I endeavour to do in my own poetry. It would perhaps be worth considering further exploring this, this time from a female perspective.
These are poems of how people are a result of their experiences: their everyday, their pain, their questions, the things that they leave unsaid. This collection of poems is an attempt at saying it. Without doing so.
Please also find, as well as my poems, a Statement of Intent and a Marketing Plan included for your consideration.
Thank you and all the best,
Joana Meehan
